How Evolution Works

Here is a great video to introduce children (and adults) to how evolution actually works in the real world. Here is the description and credits from the video below.

The mechanisms of evolution explained in one video.

The theory of evolution explains how the enormous variety of life could come into existence. How it is possible for primitive life forms to spawn the millions of different creatures, that exist today. Unfortunately, evolution is often misunderstood, because it’s mechanisms seem counter intuitive. So this video aims to explain the mechanisms of evolution in a way, easily understandable: A short animation film. By using visualizations, infographics and appealing characters, the viewer is more likely to understand it the complex information. More than that, by presenting the information in an entertaining way, the information is more likely to sink in.

  • Where did the DNA instructions come from? Aren’t mutations almost always harmful? Don’t mutations usually cause a net loss of information over time? How do you know what happened to those finches in the past? How can you tell all of that just by observing those living today? Aren’t there still just 14 different kinds? If evolution has been going on for 600 million years, shouldn’t we be able to observe some life form in transition to a different life form? I know we don’t know what it is evolving into, but we should be able to observe something changing into something different than it always has been. We can observe extinction, but not new life forms coming into existence.

I used the scientific method for many years professionally. We were supposed to look for ways to test our hypothesis to prove it wrong. In doing so a hypothesis became verified. Today it seems many scientists are observing problems with evolution theory, but they are quickly ridiculed. The majority of scientists seem to be only looking for evidence to support their theory. When that occurs, almost any evidence can be interpreted to fit the theory. It would appear those challenging evolution theory are functioning according to the scientific method, not those only trying to defend it.

    • What a shock! Looking at your website, you are a young earth creationist! Your first line in your comment gave it all away. Good luck with stuff like that banging around in your head but try your best to limit the damage you cause children minds in your teachings.
